Five Minds For The Future

Since Howard Gardner proposed his initial list of multiple intelligences in 1983, the world has changed. Schools have changed, classroom have changed. Teachers and students have changed. Education is no longer a strict institution in far off brick building, we are all perpetual scholars in our society!

 While Gardner's original multiple intelligences described what types of things we are inclined to learn or know, his five-mind theory focuses more on how we handle and apply what we know or learn.

Who is Howie and What Did He Do?

Howard Gardner is famous in educational circles for his theory of multiple intelligences. His ideas at first were controversial but are now widely accepted and applied to modern educational principles.

His original eight principles were first published in his book "Frames of Mind":



Over the years, he's proposed more types of intelligence, including

  • Moral Intelligence - the intelligence that defines our character and morality
  • Existential Intelligence - can be referred to as our spirituality
